It’s a Trap!

My first set of 2025 is the Lego Star Wars Home One Starcruiser.

The Return of the Jedi is a real contender for my all-time favorite movie, and Home One was one of the coolest ships in the rebel fleet.

The flagship of Admiral Ackbar, Home One, did not start as a warship. Like much of the rebel’s equipment, it was repurposed and used in war through necessity by those with the courage to face down the empire and its evils.

The model was fun to build, and I am glad to add it to my collection. In addition to the creative detail, the set contains three micro scenes from the film hidden within.

The first is Asoka Tano and General Hera Syndulla, next to a tactical display table.

The two spoke in the Disney Ahsoka series regarding Morgan Elsbeth’s escape and planned what to do next.

A-Wing Fghter

The next is a micro A-wing from Green Squadron. Green Squadron has participated in many battles, but perhaps the most famous was the Battle of Endor against the second Death Star. Not only did the squad escort heavy fighters and bombers into the core of the station, but Green Leader directed his crippled fighter into the bridge of the Supper Star Destroyer Executor.

The last micro scene features Admiral Ackbar, the Admiral himself. He commanded fleet movements from a chair that hung over massive windows, allowing him to see the battle unfold.

Rear view of the Home One

The rear of the starship hints at the asymmetry of the vessel. The model uses similar but different colors and pieces to capture the almost organic feel of the Mon Calamari MC80A starcruiser.

EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate

A micro Nebulon-B frigate flies alongside like the one seen in The Empire Strikes Back.

The EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate served as a hospital ship for the Rebel Alliance.

This was a fun build and one I will be happy to see displayed.
